Closed Method

If you’re not totally happy with your nose, you may be looking for a way to alter its appearance without noticeable scarring. A closed  rhinoplasty  is a cosmetic procedure that uses incisions inside the nostrils and nose so there isn’t a lot of visible scarring on the outside.

Unlike a more traditional open rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty is typically used for reshaping the tip of the nose, shortening the nose, or getting rid of a bump or  dorsal hump . The ideal candidate’s nose would be symmetrical with the majority of the reshaping occurring on the bump or the tip.

  • A closed rhinoplasty is a surgical procedure that alters the appearance of the nose.
  • Incisions are made inside the nose which causes less swelling and scarring than a traditional nose job.

  • Close rhinoplasties are generally considered safe.

  • The procedure itself typically takes 1 to 2 hours.

  • Close rhinoplasties are permanent procedures that can correct dorsal humps and narrow the nose tip or bridge of the nose.

Open Method

In this technique, nasal bone and cartilages are reshaped by making incisions from the lower part of the nasal tip. This technique is mostly preferred for second nose operations of patients who previously underwent rhinoplasty and did not achieve aesthetically and/or functionally satisfactory result. It can be performed in patient whose bone structures are more shapeless and who are not eligible for closed rhinoplasty.

Open Method

The operative time may sometimes take 1.5 hours, but it may take 3 hours in surgeries in which we have to take cartilage from another area.

In direct proportion to the operative time of rhinoplasty, our patients are
sometimes discharged on the same day and sometimes on the next day.
It takes about 6 months-1 year to get the final shape of the nose.
